My name is Nehaad Al-Waiz I was born in Suva, Fiji Islands. We moved to New Zealand (Aotearoa) In 2005 to the deep south (Invercargill) and that was a big climate change for me considering moving from the pacific where it is always tropical season. In 2012 I moved to Ōtautahi Christchurch just after the earthquakes. I have studied Electrical Engineering and hold Electrical Practising Licence.

I started my journey with working in our Muslim community and youth from an incredibly early age. My passion for working with community has led me to various pathways and lifetime experiences.

Working with youth is an extremely rewarding work especially being able to relate to the issues Muslim Youth face today. As I have been brought up in Aotearoa, I can relate to the challenges faced by our Youth today.

Alhumdulilah I am privileged to be working with such a passionate and hardworking team that is embedded within a beautiful Kaupapa Māori service.
