Kia ora! My name is Khalid. I’m a Kiwi-born Muslim originally hailing from Wellington. However, my heritage is a bit mixed with Fijian Indian, English, and Afghani blood running through my veins.
I love a good chat, a competitive day of sports, a groovy song, and of course my community. I have always been driven by helping the people around me, and I believe that the best way to build a better world for ourselves and our future is through our younger generations.
I thoroughly enjoy working with rangatahi (youth) - especially since I’m not that old myself! I have worked alongside the Muslim community through many projects which led me to become the lead youth support worker here at Purapura Whetu.
